“Make-up is the core generator of social illness!”

“Let us all take a look at the status of the woman in our society these days. We all know that the woman has an important role in educating the generations. If the woman follows God, she will manage to educate men who will be leaders of nations, however, if her balance shakes, the balance of the whole society will shake.

God ordered us to protect our women. The reason for the deterioration of our morals in this place is a direct reason of women. This is due to the accessories and clothes that they [the women] use and like to introduce. The fashion of lightening the color of the hair, putting lips-gloss, adding the blush on the cheeks and removing the hair from the eyebrows are part of the reasons for this deterioration. There are girls who go out with short pants, and shirts that show their backs and other parts of the body, like the neck, and there are those who wear very tight clothes. All these and many more, are the devil’s acts that show the moral deterioration that was banned by God. This will cause the fall of the entity of both the family and the whole society.

Some women go out to the streets and the markets, with a very unacceptable appearance. The Moslem woman should be covered and committed, committed to the Islamic traditions. The woman should dress the Islamic clothes; she should also walk, talk, look and behave likewise. A woman like this cannot be desired by anyone.

There are some women who deliberately try to seduce men when they speak. The seduction by clothing and by dressing tight and transparent clothes, or clothes that show parts of the body should be banned. All this is considered to be seduction to men.

There are women who go to hairdressers in order to change their hairstyle. The hairdresser can be a man, and this is banned by religion. If God banned a man to see the woman’s hair, then how can a hairdresser touch the hair of a Moslem woman? Where is our dignity? Where is our pride? The beauty that we got from God is much more beautiful than the beauty we get from the hairdresser. Putting nail polish on the fingers destroys the fingers.

We want a good woman who builds the society. We want a believer and a reader of the Quraan. We want a woman who educates generations.

Listen carefully to my words. There was one sheikh who said:

‘I entered thousands of villages, but I haven’t seen more educated and humble women then the women of Nablus. I lived there for months, and haven’t seen any woman in the street except for Fridays. They go to the mosques to pray. And you see other women in other villages that their main concern is their make up and appearance.’

Sinnesfreunden und materieller Genuss sind allen Ausprägungen des Totalitären ein Greuel. “We must agree on what matters”, schrieb Salman Rushdie nach den Anschlägen vom 11. September, “kissing in public places, bacon sandwiches, disagreement, cutting-edge fashion, literature, generosity, water, a more equitable distribution of the world’s resources, movies, music, freedom of thought, beauty, love. These will be our weapons. Not by making war but by the unafraid way we choose to live shall we defeat them.”
