Zaudernde Regierung und Taliban auf dem Durchmarsch
Zwei Monate nach den Anschlägen von Mumbai hat die pakistanische Regierung die Kontrolle über das Hauptquartier der Jamaat ud-Dawa in Muridke übernommen. Dieser angebliche Wohlfahrtsverein ist das organisatorische Rückgrat der Terrororganisation Lashkar-i Tayyiba, die für die Anschläge verantwortlich gemacht wird. Zwar sind die Gebäude schon länger versiegelt, aber erst jetzt beginnt die Spurensicherung (Kontenprüfung etc.).
Die Taliban haben mittlerweile eine Liste von Politikern veröffentlicht, die sich einem Scharia-Gericht in der von ihnen beherrschten Region Swat stellen sollen:

Die “New York Times” berichtet heute, wie die Taliban mit Hilfe eines Radiosenders ihre Dekrete bekannt geben und die Bevölkerung kontrollieren:

“They control everything through the radio,” said one Swat resident, who declined to give his name for fear the Taliban might kill him. “Everyone waits for the broadcast.”
